We’re seeking a talented individual to join our team in Birmingham, predominately responsible for the preparation of the annual financial accounts within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute. Also, if required, accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and undertaking the preparation of VAT returns and other VAT compliance.
There is the possibility of AAT/ACCA support in the role for the right candidate.
As Accounts Assistant, your responsibilities will include among others:
* Prepare annual financial statements including statutory accounts, partnership accounts, sole trader accounts, and trust accounts for tax purposes.
* Manage a portfolio of clients.
* Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required.
* Prepare and input client transactions into computerized ledger system if required.
* Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients if required.
* Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by client if required. Prepare Intrastat and ECC sales lists for clients.
* Complete other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax, etc., as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
* Be studying towards ACCA/ACA/AAT qualification or, alternatively, have evidence of suitable work experience.
* Possess technical knowledge and an awareness of FRS102, FRS 102 1a, and FRS105.
* Have prior experience with computerized accounting packages including cloud-based software.
* Be able to work independently but as part of a wider team.
* Be results-oriented to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high-quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.
* Understand accounting standards.
