My client is seeking a talented York-based Support Engineer to play a key role in our cutting-edge app-based messaging platform and international SIM, designed with security and privacy at its core. This role will also support vital services and hosted platforms, serving our diverse customer base across various locations.
As a Support Engineer, you will provide 2nd and 3rd line support for our internal teams, acting on behalf of end customers. You will collaborate closely with an International customer support engineer and their UK office-based product development teams to ensure the seamless operation of their products.
Hybrid role - minimum 3 days per week in York office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1st line support to investigate customer queries, working with relevant team members to resolve issues.
* Troubleshoot and resolve product-related problems, implementing fixes as needed.
* Collaborate with product teams to address technical challenges.
* Assist product teams with feature specifications for new developments.
* Advocate for customers, ensuring that their products remain fit for purpose and meet market demands.
* Conduct testing of new features and regression testing to ensure ongoing functionality.
* Coordinate software updates and rollout with the CTO, development team, and customers.
* Provide support for demos and customer presentations to assist with sales efforts.
* Help maintain product manuals, documentation, and presentations.
Key requirements:
* Experience in root cause analysis and familiarity with Wireshark.
* Understanding of microservices and both back-end and front-end architectures.
* Proficiency in SQL and database schemas (MySQL and Postgres).
* Knowledge of 3GPP network architectures, core networks, and interfaces.
* Familiarity with mobile call flow in foreign network attachment.
* Experience with protocols and interfaces: DIAMETER, SIGTRAN (SS7), IPX/GRX, S6a, Gy/Gx, GTP, STP/DRA, HLR/HSS.
* Understanding of data routing in mobile networks (DNS, GRE, BGP).
* Experience with SIM architectures and OTA platforms.
* Knowledge of 5G architectures and interfaces.
