Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Swindon Borough Council, Childrens Leaving Care Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Recruiting to our Transitions and Leaving Care Service
2. Looking for Social workers who are fully committed to ensuring that both our Children Looked After and Care Leavers are supported in their transition to adulthood
3. Understanding legislation relevant to both Children Looked After and for those Leaving Care and a genuine desire to work with young people and adults
4. A good understanding and awareness of adolescent development, and the vulnerabilities young people can face when transitioning towards adulthood
5. 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
6. 3 month Temporary Contract
7. Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
