Location: Oxford (In-Person at Sports Centre) Hours: 5 hours per week (1 PM - 3 PM, Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri) Rate: £35 per hour (Self-Employed) Start Date: ASAP Overview: An opportunity for an experienced tutor to provide in-person Functional Skills English and Maths tuition to a Year 12 student with SEN/SEMH needs. This role is ideal for an educator who understands PDA, ASD, ADHD, and EBSA and can tailor learning to an aspiring footballer. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and interactive Functional Skills Level 1 & 2 tuition in Maths and English. Adapt teaching methods to incorporate football-related content to enhance engagement and understanding. Provide active, autonomous, and conversation-based learning, avoiding traditional lecturing methods. Implement movement breaks to support engagement and self-regulation. Build a trusting relationship over time, showing commitment and consistency. Manage challenging behaviour with patience and understanding, recognising triggers related to ASD and PDA. Address learning gaps due to past non-attendance and tailor lessons to the student's needs. Ideal Candidate: Experienced in supporting SEN/SEMH learners, particularly with PDA, ASD, ADHD, and EBSA. Skilled at behaviour management and fostering positive relationships. Knowledgeable in Functional Skills English & Maths. Football-enthusiastic or able to incorporate sport into teaching. Personable, engaging, and patient, with a sense of humour and adaptability. Additional Information: Online tuition is not an option ; sessions must be delivered in person.
