Please see attached Job descriptions for full details Main duties of the job The post-holder will be expected to coordinate and deliver the strategic and operational aspects of the Neurology services across the STSFT reflecting national and local priorities. There is currently no out of hours on call commitment associated with this post, although the team provide acute neurology consultant cover on a weekly rota basis. All applicants must participate in an agreed share of the rota. Clinical Provision and delivery of consultant support for patients requiring neurology inpatient and outpatient care. Provision of assessment and triage of patients and advice and guidance following internal and external referral. Ability to facilitate discussions and/or onward referrals for patients with neurological related problems requiring input and/or specialist care. Support outpatient services such as General and Sub-Speciality Neurology OP clinics across both sites / where needed. Work collaboratively with consultant colleagues across REM directorate and through the Trust. Actively participate in Neurology MDT and any other clinical meetings deemed essential to patient care. Support the clinical lead, clinical governance lead and REM clinical director with the development of neurology services across STSFT and the wider region. Administrative - Participate in local and national audit activities relevant to neurology. Attendance at clinical governance activities / meetings. Act as an educational and clinical supervisor for junior medical staff, PAMs, nurses and AHPs in training. Support the delivery of integrated services as required. Research - Participate in existing clinical trials and research within the service. Working with the STSFT research and innovation team assist with the recruitment of potential participants into future research studies.
