We have a number of opportunities for talented Engineers to take design roles within our newly re-structured Test & Development (T&D) group. Each T&D Design Engineer position will be responsible for the design of T&D rigs and test equipment for a particular area of the car. You will work in a small group of engineers and technicians, understanding the components on test and how to achieve the required test outcomes.
In this role you will be required to:
1. Work with T&D lead and test engineers to understand incoming test requirements in your area of responsibility.
2. Design all fixturing for legality, safety, validation, measurement and development tests.
3. Scheme and design new test rig concepts and updates.
4. Work with external suppliers to manage the delivery of bought in equipment.
5. Select most appropriate sensors and transducers, using your understanding of measurement techniques and how to install these for best results.
6. Work with purchasing and manufacturing to ensure T&D equipment is designed and delivered on time.
7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of our equipment and methods.
8. Demonstrate AMF1 values of honesty, inclusion and collaboration with fellow team members.
Ideal Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Have a high-quality degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering.
2. An enthusiasm for test data analysis and component validation.
3. CAD and design skills.
4. Good numeric skills.
5. Ideally have several years previous experience working in R&D in motorsport, aerospace or other high-tech industry.
Preference will be given to applicants who have significant experience in a similar role either in motorsport or another high-performance industry. However, applications will be considered for a junior role for less experienced candidates who can demonstrate academic excellence and a high level of extra-curricular commitment. We are of the opinion that experience can be gained but enthusiasm and attitude are of greatest importance.
