Main duties of the job
Our practice nurses are part of our practice team, delivering a variety of treatment room duties such as childhood immunisations, cytology, wound care, alongside Chronic Disease Management.
The successful candidate will prioritise and manage their daily appointment sessions providing compassionate, safe and effective care and support to patients.
About us
Village Surgery is located near to the centre of Bournemouth, situated next to Bournemouth and the Arts University. We currently have 9,500 patients registered at the surgery, we have 5 GP's who are supported by an ANP, a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals. We are a training surgery with 1 GP Trainer.
We are part of North Bournemouth Primary Care Network, where we have multi-disciplinary support including Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners and Social Prescribers.
Job responsibilities
1. Prioritise and manage own workload, recognising where areas of care can be delegated to other colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, including the wider network colleagues.
2. Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols. This will include administration of injections/immunisations, dressing changes, suture removal, cytology etc.
3. Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to general practitioners as necessary.
4. Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary.
5. To maintain a clean, safe environment, adhering to hygiene and infection control.
6. To implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for pre-diabetic/diabetic patients that promote health and wellbeing.

Qualifications
* RGN & NMC Registration.
* Qualification in management of diabetes.
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care.
* Experience of working autonomously.
* Experience of diabetes management.
UK Registration
* Applicants must have current UK professional registration and evidence of ongoing evidence of revalidation.

* Polite and confident.
