Commercial Bid Manager
Location: 1 day p/week in Ascot, but required with more frequency when in the middle of an important bid.
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) + performance bonus (a % of annual turnover won through bids)

Job Description:
As a Commercial Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the entire bid process, ensuring that all timelines are met and that the bid submitted is as complete and accurate as possible. You will work closely with various internal resources to ensure that the bid reflects the company’s services and abilities effectively. You will be able to represent the company and persuasively sell our offer to potential and existing customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Market Search: Knows where to look, selects RFP’s for consideration and prioritises bids to progress in response.
* End-to-End Bid Management: Oversee the entire bid process from initial qualification to submission, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Networking: Attend events and be the face of the business, and have the ability to network and reach new clients.
* Bid Strategy Development: Develop a winning strategy for each bid, identifying unique selling points and understanding customer requirements.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, including subject matter experts, employees and associates, to gather necessary information and inputs for the bid.
* Documentation: Prepare high-quality bid documentation, including written proposals in word, Adobe and PowerPoint presentations, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compelling content. Develop a library of bid materials.
* Compliance: Ensure all bids comply with company policies, client requirements, and relevant regulations.
* Risk Management: Identify and address potential risks associated with the bid process and propose mitigation strategies.
* Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs and tailor the bid.
* Feedback and Improvement: Collect and analyse feedback on submitted bids to continuously improve the bid process and increase success rates.
Requirements:
* Experience: Proven experience in bid management, preferably in a commercial or technical environment, with a successful track record of winning work from clients.
* Skills: Strong project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Attention to Detail: High levels of attention to detail and accuracy in the preparation of bids and tenders.
* Commercial Awareness: First class understanding of commercial principles and the ability to develop competitive pricing strategies.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams internally.
* Self-Starter: Exceptional personal drive and motivation, strong facilitation skills and ability to work to short timelines.
* Negotiation Skills: Ability to understand negotiating strategy, power dynamics to set and execute winning strategies.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Able to understand business needs of cross-functional stakeholders, deliver findings and recommendations in a way that a lay senior decision maker can understand and turn into action.
* Education: A degree in business, management, or a related field is desirable.
* Other: Transport and aviation sector experience is desirable.
