People Adviser - You'll work closely with managers and staff, providing expert guidance on recruitment, employment policies, and other HR-related matters, ensuring processes are streamlined and conducted consistently across the organisation.
Description
People Adviser - Key Responsibilities:
1. Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues across the organisation, providing clear advice and support on HR issues and best practices.
2. Take ownership of operational HR tasks, including recruitment, contract management, performance reviews, and absence management.
3. Guide managers through the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently and in line with organisational policies.
4. Maintain and update the People Management Information System, producing regular reports for management as well as ad hoc requests.
5. Provide support in handling employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions and grievances, ensuring procedures are followed appropriately.
6. Work closely with payroll teams to manage employee pay and pension matters.
7. Assist in the review and development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
8. Ensure all necessary pre-employment checks, including DBS clearances, are carried out and appropriately recorded.
9. Manage and maintain accurate employee records, contributing to safeguarding and compliance efforts.
10. Assist in projects and initiatives aimed at improving HR operations and supporting organisational objectives.
Profile
People Adviser - Key Skills and Attributes:
1. Strong communication and relationship-building skills
2. Good understanding of HR processes, employment law
3. Proven ability to manage and support recruitment processes
4. Experience handling employee relations cases
5. Experience with iTrent
6. High level of attention to detail and organisational skills
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
