Job Advert: English Teacher (SEMH Specialist)
Location: Basingstoke | Full-time | Permanent Position
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have a love for teaching English and the ability to inspire and engage students in a supportive and nurturing environment? If so, we would love to hear from you!
We are working with a specialist school in Basingstoke dedicated to supporting students with SEMH needs. Their small class sizes (up to 8 pupils per class) allow for focused, tailored teaching, ensuring each student receives the attention they deserve.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual learning needs
* Support students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized learning plans
* Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable students
