Teaching Personnel are looking for experienced and person-centred SEN Learning Support Assistants, with a background in complex needs, to work with a non-verbal KS2 student with autism and learning, communication and sensory needs.
Based in Mid Cornwall, this role involves planning and delivering learning and engaging activities at early years levels, as well as providing communication, emotional and behavioural support. Knowledge of PECS or Makaton is desirable, but not essential. You will be working alongside other professionals who will be providing different aspects of care.
The placements:
Working with your student on a 1:1 basis in a school setting
This is a full time role, but the School will consider 2x part time TA's as an alternative
What you need to apply:
Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs (SEN, SEMH needs and other barriers to learning)
Experience delivering or supporting numeracy, literacy and communication skills in creative, practical and engaging ways
Knowledge of PECS or Makaton is desirable
A commitment to keeping children and young people safe and a practical and up to date knowledge of safeguarding
