Futures are looking to appoint an environmental manager for a leading UK manufacturing business. The successful Environmental Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all environmental policies and regulations are adhered to throughout the business. This role requires a proactive approach to managing environmental risks and promoting sustainability practices within the organization as they look to become net zero by 2050.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Risk Assessment: Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and risk assessments to identify potential environmental risks associated with project activities.
2. Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable practices across the project, including waste reduction, resource efficiency, and energy management.
3. Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs for staff and stakeholders on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
4. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor environmental performance and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
5. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws, regulations, and standards in the UK. Keep abreast of changes in legislation and assess their impact on the project.
6. Environmental Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) in line with ISO 14001 standards.
