Job Title: Warehouse Team Manager Day/Mid/Night (DEP: Warehouse Co-ordinator)
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the operations of the warehouse in line with budgets, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental legislation, and all internal standards. To provide leadership and motivation to the team to achieve set KPI standards and targets and ensure excellent service to internal and external customers.
Accountabilities:
1. Manage the warehouse team to ensure all goods are picked onto cages or pallets, correctly compiled, wrapped, labelled, and loaded correctly on vehicles.
2. Ensure company assets in the warehouse (cages, pallets, stock) are controlled and accounted for at all times in line with budget.
3. Manage employee and equipment deployment to maximise shift efficiency, both directly and through your supervisory team.
4. Ensure that good management practice and all processes are followed to ensure the Health and Safety of our employees and customers.
5. Ensure that the department operates in compliance with all company audit and legal standards, including Food Safety, Health & Safety, customer, and internal audits.
6. Process wage payments, including bonus payments accurately and on time.
7. Review credit notes and take action to reduce the numbers of credits attributable to warehouse operations.
8. Ensure that all equipment is maintained to company standards and all damages are recorded and stored according to damage procedures.
9. Ensure that inductions and training are carried out as set by the company standards.
10. Manage the team of Supervisors, Team Leaders, and warehouse operatives, ensuring appraisals, people management, and conduct issues are dealt with.
11. Manage the night trunking operation (if applicable).
12. Account for product availability and NATOPS.
Health and Safety Accountabilities:
1. Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
2. Support the BS OHSAS 18001: accreditation process.
3. Comply with all verbal and written instructions in matters pertaining to Health & Safety.
4. Attend Health & Safety training courses as per instructions from line managers.
Measures & Key Performance Indicators:
1. The department is fully compliant and passes all internal and external audits.
2. Temperature logs are accurately completed and issues dealt with immediately.
3. All goods in Hub temperatures and loading temperatures are recorded.
4. Stock loss kept within budget.
5. Staff accident statistics within company target.
6. Department absence less than 3%.
7. Hub variances checked and loaded by 5am.
8. Operation comes in under cost/budget.
9. All matters relating to Health and Safety and Food Safety are compliant at all times.
10. Implement clean as you go policy and conduct walk around at the beginning and end of shift.
11. All customers designated as 100% are checked as correct and loaded before the end of shift.
12. Credit notes to be reduced and maintained at 1%.

6. Motivating and managing a team of people in sometimes challenging circumstances.
