Job Details
This role involves a leadership & management position within our Residential Houses, providing support to children, young people, and young adults.
The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all leadership and management tasks within a house, including:
* Provision of supervision
* Oversight of rota
* Attending professional meetings
* Overseeing care plans
* Chairing team meetings
* Financial responsibilities
* Health & safety management
* Medication audits
* Attendance management oversight
The successful candidate will ensure young people are supported by a team that provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
They will also be expected to:
* Provide appropriate levels of supervision and emotional attunement to young people.
* Work with young people to support them in managing risk.
* See beyond presenting behaviours and demonstrate compassion and empathy.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet the children's needs.
* Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children.
* Implement the principles of the Promise Scotland.
* Undertake quality assurance and meet regulatory responsibilities.
* Promote physical tasks (for example, cleaning, cooking, and participating in various activities that promote a homely environment).
* Uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.
The Person
* Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
* Significant experience in a residential childcare environment.
* In-depth understanding of attachment promoting & trauma-informed care.
* Significant experience of leading staff teams within a residential childcare environment.
* Educated to at least SCQF Level 8 (HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People), or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare).
* A full driving licence is preferred, or a willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
