Lange Estate Winery is a family-owned and operated winery located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, renowned for producing exceptional Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and outgoing Hospitality Associate to represent our brand, wines, and culture. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional hospitality to our club members, guests, industry friends, and trade partners while educating them on the unique qualities of our wines, history, philanthropy, and culture. A passion for hospitality, coupled with strong sales skills, is essential. We value a sense of humor and a commitment to teamwork. Our Dundee tasting room is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with occasional evening events. This is a part-time position, with weekend availability required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Brand Representation: Engage with guests and visitors to represent Lange Winery with enthusiasm, professionalism, and warmth.
2. Wine Education: Share in-depth knowledge about our wines, tasting practices, winemaking methods, and the winery’s rich history.
3. Sales Focus: Proactively invite guests to join our wine club and promote upcoming winery events to increase membership and sales.
4. Point-of-Sale Operations: Efficiently manage POS transactions, handle cash, and provide exceptional service during purchases. Familiarity with POS systems is preferred; experience with Wine Direct, Tock, or similar systems is a plus.
5. Inventory Assistance: Assist in daily inventory checks, wine stocking, and ensure proper organization of tasting room supplies.
6. Shipping Support: As needed, help with the packing and shipping of wine orders to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
7. Event Assistance: Provide support for winery events, both on and off-site, including VIP hosting, private tastings, and club/private event coordination.
8. Tasting Room Maintenance: Perform daily housekeeping tasks to keep the tasting room and property clean, organized, and inviting.
9. Special Projects: Assist with any additional hospitality duties or tasks assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Wine Knowledge & Passion: A strong understanding and enthusiasm for wine and its history, with the ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to guests.
2. Sales Experience: Proven success in sales and customer service, with a track record of driving membership, event participation, and retail sales.
3. Exceptional Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to interact confidently and kindly with a wide range of guests.
4. Professional Demeanor: A polished appearance and professional attitude with a focus on providing high-quality service.
5. High Energy: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.
6. Wine Licensing & Food Handlers Permit: Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid OLCC pourer’s license and Oregon Food Handlers permit.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly.
2. Stand, sit, walk for extended periods of time.
3. Stoop, reach, kneel, or crouch, use hands for the duration of the shift.
4. The working environment has exposure to both indoors and outdoors.
