What we are looking for: As part of our Raceday Stewarding Team, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have an enjoyable and safe experience visiting Ascot Racecourse. The successful candidates will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and enjoy interacting with our guests and assisting them with any queries or assistance they may need. This is casual role working on Ascot Racedays and the 5 days of Royal Ascot. We have a variety of positions available across the racecourse – please note some of these involve working outside in the elements and standing for long periods of time in one position. What will the role involve? Customer service • Ensuring guest queries are always answered to a high standard. • Monitoring access and egress points. • Assisting guests with accurate information and directions. Safety & Stewarding • Monitoring crowd movement & behaviour & reporting issues. • Ensure the safety of work areas and help with evacuation procedures when necessary. • Work up to 26 race days per year (see 2025 fixtures list below). • Undertake training and e-learning courses as required. What skills are needed in the role? • Demonstrate a passion for providing exceptional customer service to our guests. • Quickly adapt to changing situations while maintaining professionalism. • Comfortable working outdoors and in any condition when needed. • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Present yourself in a smart and professional manner at all times (uniform provided). • Demonstrate reliability and responsibility along with a positive, can-do attitude. • Be open to learning new things and addressing challenges head-on. • Capable of using a radio effectively to communicate with colleagues. Qualifications: Desirable but not essential - Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety or Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events.
