About the Role: In this rewarding position, you will support students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will assist in delivering personalised learning programmes and fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEN. Help implement strategies outlined in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Assist teachers in delivering accessible and engaging lessons for all learners. Promote emotional well-being and positive behaviour using de-escalation and supportive techniques. Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists. Track and report on pupil progress, achievements, and areas needing further support. Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student independence. Job Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting. A caring, patient, and resilient attitude with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong behaviour management strategies and a calm approach under pressure. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Relevant education or child support qualifications are beneficial but not essential. Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD, etc. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
