Job: Project Electrical Design Engineer\n Location: Home Based/ UK Wide. Offices are based in Windsor/Stockport. Candidates must be prepared to travel UK-wide on occasion as site surveys and installation quality checks will be expected.\nWhilst the role is flexible with regards to location and home working, it will involve UK site visits, also, the team office base is in Stockport, attendance there for meetings once or twice a month will also be required.\nDuration: 6+ months \n Pay: Negotiable - Inside IR35 and paid via umbrella company\n\nOverview \n Our client builds, operates, and maintains clean energy assets to help customers decarbonise.

In this role you will contribute to the delivery of sustainable, zero carbon, innovative and high-quality design solutions for mechanical building services systems. To succeed in this role, you must be confident facing clients and have working knowledge of the delivery of mechanical building services installations.\n\nThe Role \n Exciting opportunity for a self-motivated electrical/EC&I engineer, with experience to contribute to project delivery from day one, but also desire to grow with the team in capability and responsibility.
If you're a\n\nDesign Engineer in building services, renewables or related industry or have a background in electrical installation you may find yourself an excellent addition to our team.\n\nThe role is in our Public & private sector business, delivering energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects for large Public Sector bodies, principally the NHS, hotels, leisure centres, industrial clients, etc. Working alongside a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for preparing electrical and control engineering deliverables. Your contribution will span the full project lifecycle from site surveys and initial concept, through detailed design, to commissioning support and handover.
\n\nKey responsibilities include, but not limited to: \n\nDesign of distributed generation and renewable energy schemes\nDetailed design of LV distribution systems\nSpecification of HV installation works\nDesign for compliance with GB Distribution Code (G99, G100 etc)\nElectrical calculations including load estimation, equipment sizing, cable & protection device selection\nSelection & specification of electrical equipment for integration with CHP, heat pumps and district heating systems\nPreparing construction-ready detailed designs: single line diagrams, control panel drawings, block cable diagrams, cable schedules, lists of materials and design risk assessments\nDefining scope of works and interfaces for subcontractor packages\nProficiency with AutoCAD LT and Amtech (or equivalent)\nKnowledge of legislation, standards, safe working practice and environmental best practice.\nKnowledge of control systems for power management and building controls\n(PLCs, SCADA, BMS, etc)\nCapable of working to procedures. Both Client and CBS.\nEnsure that drawings are produced quickly and accurately in a consistent format with the minimum of supervision.\nCapable of fitting in to a dept. that is dynamic that has high expectations of meeting targets.\nA collaborative approach is essential - must be a good team worker, prepared to share knowledge and assist others to improve their skills\nSound presentation and communications skills\nProcurement or Construction teams, where required\nWill be personally well-organised and be able to prioritise work in line with CBS interests \n\nTo be considered for this role you must have: \n\nCIBSE / IET Engineering Council accredited honours degree in Electrical Engineering or HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education and to have achieved or be working towards IEng or CEng status\nBeing forward thinking and passionate about design innovation\nExperience across different sectors such as Building Services Design, site surveys & inspections, snagging, client & design team meetings\nTechnical Knowledge: Demonstrate a history of understanding engineering fundamentals and energy technologies, with some post-education experience.
In addition you must be able to write clear and concise English, e.g., technical sections in tender response documents\nAttention to detail outlining your ability to apply a thorough approach to each stage of the design process from concept to detail design.\nCross-functional communication skills whereby you have employment history demonstrating your ability to communicate across all levels and have the ability to converse and collaborate with stakeholders of varying technical or commercial bias to enable a successful outcome whereby you are explaining engineering solutions. \n Safety in Design in which you can comply with CDM 2015 regulations and contribute towards design safety reviews and design risk assessments.\nExperience of EPLAN will be an advantage.\nKnowledge of earthing and/or lightning protection an advantage.\nKnowledge of fire detection, machinery safety or metering an advantage. \n\nPlease Note: To be considered for this role you must have the following:\nNot be on any type of visa which expires before December 2030\nHave a UK Clean driving licence.\nBe living in the UK and hold proof of this
