About the role
This role is an integral part of the CGO Legal Health & Hygiene team, providing balanced, commercial legal advice and support to the Intimate Wellness and Veet brand teams, as well as associated global functions, including the R&D, Medical, and Regulatory teams. You will be a partner to the business working collaboratively with both legal and non-legal colleagues and stakeholders to bring innovative and competitive products to market while ensuring compliance with marketing and consumer laws.
Your responsibilities
* Working in collaboration with the Head of Legal, Intimate Wellness, deliver operational legal support to aspects of global product development, marketing, advertising, and commercialization, including:
o Advising on global advertising and marketing claims and claims substantiation, as well as approving on-pack copy and other globally developed consumer and trade marketing materials;
o Providing input to project documentation including stage gate documents, and to risk assessments;
o Advising on concepts and attending workshops for new and/or existing products, identifying key risks and route to market issues;
o Attending and preparing notes of meetings of Intimate Wellness and/or Veet leadership team meetings;
o Liaising with Reckitt lawyers worldwide and other legal functions such as Global Brand Protection, Patents, and Procurement.
* Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, statements of work, joint development agreements, clinical and other research agreements, and other similar innovation or brand partnership contracts;
* Working with the cross-functional team, support the business in managing the implications of changes to relevant laws, particularly in relation to products on the market;
* Deliver training to relevant business units on frequently encountered legal issues;
* Provide legal assistance as needed by Head of Legal, Intimate Wellness on ad hoc matters including competitor challenges, supply chain matters, product-related litigation, M&A, and product recalls.
The experience we're looking for
* Legal experience preferably in a commercial legal department in-house. Ideally, 2 years PQE, although those with lower PQE or that are yet to obtain formal legal qualification will be considered based on experience.
* Ability to draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts governed by English law.
* As we operate in a fast-paced environment, a high willingness to learn and high learning agility, including an ability to apply principles learned in new situations is mandatory.
* Knowledge of advertising and marketing law, and/or intellectual property law in UK, EU, China or India desirable.
* High level of attention to detail and good ability to spot issues.
* Practical and commercial approach to problem-solving.
* A positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
