Client: Our client is a nationally renowned M&E Contractor who turnover in excess of £250M. With numerous offices throughout the country their client base ranges from end users to large main contractors, including: Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Carillion. They specialise in technically challenging projects within the Datacentre, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Residential and R&D sectors. Following the appointment on a major project in Central London, they are looking to recruit a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the delivery to hand over. Role: Mechanical Project Engineer - North West London - £375-£425 per day via CIS The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the mechanical shell and core packages on a new build £25m M&E value, prime residential care home. Role/Responsibilities: Read, understand and scrutinise Specifications Assist with management of design stage Procurement of sub-contractors, kit and plant Investigate Value Engineering Assist with preparation of Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc. Coordination and management of direct labour Instruct and coordinate site managers Progress reporting Overseeing commissioning and testing Working with Quantity Surveyor on Commercial Accounts Preparation of OMs for final project handover The ideal candidate: Experience delivering major shell and core projects Experience managing projects to a minimum of £10m M&E value A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Wates, Mace and Sir Robert McAlpine.
