Job Overview
You will be joining a small and friendly campus environment team, which operates across core parts of the university estate, ensuring it is clean and safe for staff, students, and visitors. You will be responsible for maintaining waste and recycling collection points, keeping them tidy, and working with external waste contractors to ensure daily collections take place.
The role includes helping us recycle and reuse more of our waste materials, contributing to the university’s sustainability ambitions, as well as ensuring external spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming.
About You
You will be a hard-working individual with a passion for great service delivery and teamwork. You will be quick to learn and be happy working manually with waste materials. You will be outdoors much of the time and be expected to work in all weathers. A flexible approach to work is essential as you may at times be required to assist in a wide range of tasks as part of the wider sustainability team.
Job Details
This is a permanent part-time role for 25 or 22 hours per week. In addition, you will be required to assist with UWE open days, Welcome Weekend, or when extreme weather events occur, which will be paid as overtime.
Location
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed. However, there may be occasions where you will need to work on another campus.

The University’s normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
