Job Title: Technical Co-Ordinator Location: Stockport Reporting to: Head of Technical Role Overview A leading provider of security and access solutions is seeking a Technical Co-Ordinator to oversee projects from initial specification through to completion. This role ensures technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across teams. The successful candidate will collaborate with clients, architects, the design team, and site teams to maintain high-quality standards and efficient project execution. Key Responsibilities Project Specification & Compliance Work closely with clients and architects to align project specifications with requirements. Advise on product capabilities and limitations while maintaining compliance and certification. Ensure all designs conform to British Standards, Building Regulations, and Fire, Security & Acoustic certification requirements. Provide technical guidance to designers without producing drawings, ensuring specifications align accordingly. Order Management & Technical Oversight Take ownership of projects post-award, ensuring smooth progression through all stages. Review architectural details and specifications, resolving technical queries to ensure compliance. Create production drawing packs following design approval. Coordination & Collaboration Attend design team meetings to review architect/consultant feedback and coordinate door performance requirements (e.g., access control, security). Participate in weekly management meetings to review project progress across departments and sign off projects for production. Join weekly project coordinator meetings to discuss challenges and solutions. Develop production schedules and customer approval drawings as required. Attend customer meetings to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with on-site requirements. Requirements & Qualifications Proven experience in a technical coordination role within the security, fire-rated, or construction industry. Strong knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations, and certification requirements for fire, security, and acoustic-rated products. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (or similar software). Experience with document control software. Ability to review technical drawings and ensure compliance with industry standards. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams.
