Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Youth Engagement Officer for a local authority client based in East London. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver engaging youth participatory activities, empower young people to take on leadership roles, and work closely with internal and external partners to create positive outcomes for children and young people in the borough. About the role: You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives: Coordinate and deliver youth participatory activities and events across various settings (schools, youth centres, community spaces), empowering young people to engage in leadership, group work, volunteering, and accredited programmes. Advocate for young people and ensure their active involvement in decision-making processes, including youth-led initiatives like the Care Council, Young Carers groups, and local democracy projects. Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery, including collaborating with other agencies to support at-risk youth and offering advice and guidance to young people and their families. Monitor, evaluate, and report on the impact of youth activities, ensuring performance standards are met, and manage the recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and apprentices. About you: The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience: Experience in designing and delivering youth programmes, including group work, personal development activities, and youth-led initiatives, particularly for vulnerable or at-risk young people. Experience in advocating for young people and supporting their active participation in decision-making processes. Experience in managing volunteer or apprenticeship programmes, including recruitment, training, supervision, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver youth services. Experience in risk assessment, safeguarding, and data analysis, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people while monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of activities to meet service targets.
