Purpose of the role
Our ideal candidate will be primarily responsible for programme budgeting, financial tracking and reporting performance.
In this role, you'll work directly with our corporate accountant, chief commercial officer and head of programme delivery.
Main responsibilities
1. Budget building: Working with our partnerships team to cost up proposals and new projects where required.
2. Budgeting: Collaborating with department heads to create and manage budgets for various projects and initiatives, particularly the programmes team.
3. Public sector programme reporting: Working with our partnerships and programmes teams to oversee public sector programmes with financial reporting requirements and tracking invoices that depend on deliverables.
4. Data entry: Accurately collating and adding financial data in key tools to help track how individual programmes are performing.
5. Programme evaluation: Analysing the performance of existing projects and programmes, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and making recommendations for improvement or expansion.
6. Financial updates: Preparing a monthly update on our programmes' financial performance for the executive team.
7. CRM entry: Supporting our partnerships team with adding financial data to our CRM system where necessary.
8. Cost analysis: Conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses for proposed programmes and initiatives to ensure they are financially viable.
9. Payment approvals: Cross-checking invoices against project/programme budgets, maintained by programme managers, to sign off for payment.
10. Cost management: Looking across the business and working with team heads to manage key costs and make sure our subscriptions for tech tools are suitable and correct.
11. Time tracking: Making sure the team is leveraging the tools and adding/tracking their time accordingly.
12. Grant programmes: Supporting with the administration of grant programmes, including producing and sharing grant agreement letters and obtaining grant recipients' bank details.
13. Internal calls: Where required, attending internal calls with the financial/commercial function, project kick offs and wider team calls.
About you
You are:
1. Ideally someone with experience in a similar role
2. A numerically minded person with great attention to detail and accuracy
3. Able to manage budgets, and deliver to deadlines and financial targets
4. Personable and able to work well with the wider team, from junior to C-suite colleagues
5. Entrepreneurial – able to navigate in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
6. Trusted – able to take difficult decisions and show resilience under pressure
