We are working with one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 contractors, delivering some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting, and meaningful projects; developing, building, and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities. They have an opening within their Major Projects Team for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on one of Europe's largest civil engineering projects. Hinkley Point C is a multi-billion-pound nuclear power station that stands as a cornerstone of the UK’s energy future. This landmark project will play a crucial role in meeting the UK’s energy needs and driving sustainable progress. My clients' expert team have used state-of-the-art technology to excavate a total of nine kilometres of tunnel, which has been lined with 38,000 concrete segments forming 6000 lining rings. The tunnels are currently being connected to the seabed by vertical shafts and capped with large intake and outfall heads, each weighing close to 5000 tonnes, that allow seawater to pass into the tunnels. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide expert guidance to the Quantity Surveying team and Project Directors/Managers on all matters related to commercial activities for a specific package or multiple packages. You will be responsible for ensuring robust commercial and contractual management, while coordinating the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the execution of the assigned package, ensuring smooth project delivery and effective collaboration. Significant knowledge of construction techniques on particular projects. BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards Practical application of Microsoft Office – predominantly Excel Experience in using a cost system .e. Oracle or similar
