Position
To deliver MU (electric, water, gas) new connections projects to cost and time, ensuring adherence to all relevant safety and construction regulations and policies. To give complete confidence to our clients in our ability to deliver MU new connections works, including undertaking pre-contract site surveys with clients and supporting the estimating/design team in producing proposals.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Working with the back-office project support team, be ultimately responsible for the delivery of your projects to quality, time and cost
2. Control project scope, risks and budgets
3. Select and supervise teams and sub-contractors onsite
4. Provide the necessary training and support to site teams
5. Ensure onsite staff always comply with safety, quality and environmental law, regulations and standards
6. Ensure project records and completion files are up to date, in accordance with our process
7. Undertake on-site audits, in line with our audit plan
8. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers
9. Provide electrical and water delivery expertise and support to other members of the team
10. Support other operational processes as required, e.g. planning, pre-construction
11. Support business development efforts, e.g. provide advice & solutions, site surveys with clients
12. Participate in regular training/ learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge
13. Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices
14. Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work
15. Any other reasonable duties as required.
Requirements
Technical Skills & Knowledge
1. 5+ years site experience working for an MU new connections electrical ICP/water SLP
2. NRSWA supervisor ticket
3. Full UK driving licence and willingness + ability to travel to sites in and around the SW and South Wales, up to 4 days’ per week
4. Distribution Network Authorisation – at least WPD and SSE
5. Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certified (preferred, not essential)
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills
7. Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, and construction of plant and apparatus, including control and protection equipment.
8. Organisational skills
9. Project management skills, forecasting, and resourcing planning
10. Interpersonal skills of communication, influencing, negotiation, persuasion, and diplomacy.
