Job Title: Principal Environmental Advisor
Location: Falmer (Brighton) - hybrid working model
Salary: up to £60,000 depending on experience
Job Summary:
As part of our ongoing commitment to improve our environmental performance, we are excited to be recruiting for a new Principal Environmental Advisor to join our growing team! This role will play a pivotal part in helping us to enhance our reputation as a leader in sustainability within the water industry by developing and implementing innovative environmental strategies and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement ground-breaking environmental policies and practices across our operations. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership teams, regulatory bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure that we meet and exceed our environmental obligations while also driving positive change throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the development and implementation of our environmental strategy and policy framework
2. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to identify opportunities for improving our environmental performance
3. Providing expert guidance and support to operational teams to help them integrate environmental considerations into their day-to-day activities
4. Identifying emerging environmental risks and trends and proactively developing strategies to mitigate these
5. Managing complex environmental projects from conception through to delivery, including engagement with key stakeholders and budget management
6. Preparing regular reports and updates for senior leaders and boards on progress against environmental objectives
7. Representing the organisation at relevant conferences, events, and meetings to showcase our environmental work and learn from others
Qualifications:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced environmental professional who has a proven track record of delivering impactful environmental initiatives within a large organisation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulation, as well as experience working with senior stakeholders and communities to drive positive environmental change. A background in wastewater or water would be advantageous but not essential; however, a passion for the environment and a willingness to learn quickly are essential.

This role will be full time Monday - Friday with a hybrid approach to working between home and office.
