About you
As a Sexual Health Healthcare Assistant, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a highly rewarding sector with some truly inspirational service users and colleagues.
Supporting the Lead Sexual Health Nurse and reporting to the Lead Nurse, you will be involved in developing a new pathway to support the sexual health needs of people who access substance misuse services as well as supporting and assisting in the provision of a range of healthcare interventions.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of sexual health issues, as well how these issues relate to the particular needs of people who use substances.
Key responsibilities
* Supporting the clinical team with healthcare assessments and treatments.
* Providing harm reduction support, information, and advice to individuals in relation to substance misuse.
* Undertaking general health and sexual health assessments.
* Blood borne virus screening and immunisations.
* Referral into other services to meet the health and well-being needs of people who use our service.
* Contribute to training and pathway development within the service.
Please note this role is 30 hours per week.
