Electrical Design Engineer Location: Peterborough, England, United Kingdom, PE4 5HG Company: Chart Industries Ensuring Chart's Success This is an exciting opportunity for anElectricalDesign Engineer to join a vibrant business undergoing significant growth and looking to further develop its engineering capabilities. As anElectricalDesign Engineer, you will be joining a small design team where you will beresponsiblefor the design and laying out ofelectricalsystems, completing engineering drawings, completing engineering BoMs for multi-stage steam turbines. You will be expected to work independently and lead projects with a high level of customer expectation. Your designs will need to meet stringent customer specifications, be delivered on time, in full, to schedule and budget. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. What will you do - Creation of system P&IDs - Creation ofElectricalSchematics - Responsiblefor new systems and making relevant changes - Design and layouts of newelectricalsystems in the 3D CAD models - Creation & buildelectricalBoM's and wiring schedules, ready for input to Manufacturing System, ready for procurement and build - Interrogate current designs and develop or modify to suit relevant customer requirements - Designelectricalschematics, single line diagrams, panel & junction box arrangements using AutoCADElectrical, - Design to international standards as appropriate, such as IEC and BS EN - Produce wiring diagrams/harnesses for 3rd party manufacture/supply - Manage relevant stakeholders' expectations and deliver required documentation on time, in full and right first time - Work with multi-discipline teams to produce a complete system - Ensureagreedcustomer specifications are met and implemented throughout the scope of supply - Continually develop and improve products and processes to improve quality, cost and delivery - Work safely and ensure safety practices are always followed What do you bring To be successful you must have - Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD Electrical/ E3 CAD or similar. - Strong understanding of electrical schematics and P&I drawings, and experience of constructing them - Experience of designing routing systems for cable tray, instrumentation cabling and power - Good understanding and discipline with Product Data Management ie. experience of working with revision-controlled libraries, change management and drawing release - Experience of dealing with complex customer specifications - Good understanding of Microsoft packages It's a bonus if you have (but not essential) - Experience in the oil and gas industry and/or similar heavy engineering environments - Experience in product selection specifications - Experience of setting up embedded ICD data and blocks. - Experience in heat loading of cables - Knowledge and experience of rotating equipment - preferably steam turbines - Experience in hazardous area equipment - Degree qualified or HND with the relevant industrial experience in Engineering - Chartered or on the pathway to Chartership We've put together some criteria that we think is important for this role, but don't worry if your experience and expertise isn't an exact match.
