Responsible for implementing new polices for Homecare services in line with Regional and National requirements, Carter metrics and National Homecare Medicines committee (NHMC) approved standards and processes, To ensure all financial transactions and statements of account are processed appropriately and in reflection of contract pricing to meet NHS terms and conditions and minimise any debt. Liaise with the Trust Finance Department regarding queries relating to Homecare payments and Homecare suppliers. Identify medicine savings opportunities and cost improvement programmes (CIPs) for pharmacy and to contribute to the wider organisation and commissioner savings targets. Responsible for co-ordinating service review meetings for homecare medicines services working closely with homecare companies, pharmacists, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare staff. Develop policies and processes to introduce Pharmacy Technicians clinically screening of homecare prescriptions. Participate in clinical screening of homecare prescriptions in line with agreed Trust policies and SOPs. Work with the multidisciplinary teams to switch patients to generic medicines or biosimilar medicines to deliver best value money to the Trust. Undertakes computer file maintenance to ensure all National and Regional contracts are adhered to. To investigate any incidents, complaints, near misses, and deviations relating to Homecare services to identify any risks or areas for improvement. To lead on any identified improvement plans in response to incidents, complaints, near misses or deviations.
