West Kent – must drive with own transport due to location/hours
c.£100k + travel allowance + bens + bonus

Are you a technically skilled leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations? We are seeking an Operations Director to drive excellence across three departments through technical expertise and a hands-on approach.
Role Overview
As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the full scope of our client’s operational processes, including production, scheduling, and inventory management. You’ll apply your technical knowledge of manufacturing processes to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
With overall accountability of efficiencies and continuous improvement, the Operations Director will undertake a business-critical role with opportunity to make a significant contribution to the growth of the business.
Key Duties:
1. Work collaboratively as part of the SLT to oversee manufacturing and warehouse operations, including resource allocation, staffing, and equipment management.
2. Apply your Engineering knowledge as well as your understanding of production processes and materials management to ensure efficient inventory control.
3. Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase productivity, and maintain high quality standards.
4. Utilise systems and software to optimise production timelines and resource allocation.
5. Conduct safety audits, enforce health and safety protocols, and drive a culture of compliance.
6. Lead and inspire all three departments to work cohesively, using your well-honed management and interpersonal skills.
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in manufacturing operations management with an engineering background.
2. Excellent academic background: ideally educated to degree level in a technical field ideally with a mechanical bias.
3. Previous ‘hands-on’ Engineering background.
4. Strong understanding of production processes, materials handling, and inventory control systems.
5. IT proficiency with experience using relevant software and systems.
6. Decisive and hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues efficiently.
7. Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
8. Solid career history demonstrating commitment and contribution to shared company objectives.
