Critical Care Dietitian - Band 6
We recognise that outstanding care can only be delivered through our people. We want to attract people who can help us deliver our vision. We want in return to help people achieve what they wish in their careers in the NHS at ULHT.
We are always keen to welcome highly skilled, committed and compassionate individuals to our hospitals – people who put patients at the heart of everything they do.
Our values guide everything we do. They are:
* Patient-centred: Putting patients at the heart of everything we do, listening and responding to their needs and wishes.
* Safety: Following ULHT and professional guidelines. Speaking up to make sure patients and staff are safe from harm.
* Excellence: Striving to be the best that we can be. Innovating and learning from others.
* Compassion: Caring for patients and their loved ones in ways we would want for our friends and family.
* Respect: Behaving and using language that demonstrates respect and courtesy to others.
If you believe in them too, then you are ready to join the ULHT team.
This is a challenging yet rewarding job that is at the centre of health and care in Lincolnshire - making a positive difference to our patients.
Job overview
The service provides support to adult patients requiring complex nutrition support in a critical care setting and the clinical caseload of the post-holder will include critically unwell surgical, medical and trauma patients.
You will attend MDTs and ward rounds and input directly into the multidisciplinary care of patients, as well as working with the wider MDT to ensure high quality and equitable care for the patients.
You will be responsible for inputting into handovers and consultant-led ward rounds, to offer dietetic advice based on up to date evidence. You will undertake the nutritional assessment of critically ill patients, and devise nutritional plans including advice on oral intake and provision of enteral feeding regimes. You will be responsible for ordering parenteral nutrition as part of the wider multidisciplinary team – experience of parenteral nutrition would therefore be advantageous, however training will be provided for the successful applicant.
