Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Abingdon, Oxford

Salary - £65,000 - £70,000 per annum
Lead Infrastructure Engineer required for a leading client based in Abingdon. Our client is looking for someone at a senior level to support the development of internal digital equipment, related processes, and documentation enabling an efficient and effective digital/Technology solution.
The client has users based in both the UK and France and due to a merger, they are looking to migrate their infrastructure into a new cloud-based domain. The right candidate will have extensive experience with AWS, Active Directory, Networking, and Domain Migration. There will also be a heavy focus on DNS and cloud services. Alongside the project work, you will be managing user day-to-day issues and improvement efficiencies. The right candidate will have a strong knowledge of the technical skillset and be a real team player.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
1. Strong 3rd Line/Level 3 support experience
2. Extensive experience surrounding network/server infrastructure
3. IT Systems experience
4. Maintaining and managing all PC, laptop, Chromebook, and server workstations, as well as firewall and proxy systems.
5. Configuring and managing servers, including AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPO settings.
6. Specifying and procuring hardware and software.
7. Managing backups, data archiving, and ensuring business continuity.
8. Ensuring data and cybersecurity measures are in place and effective.
9. Maintaining current and future certifications required by the business.
10. Managing the AWS environment.
11. Play a key role in shaping the long-term vision for potential improvements, contributing to the development of a successful strategy that supports business growth.
12. Take a significant role in influencing the improvement plan, detailing current and future activities, resource requirements, and ensuring timely and on-budget delivery according to the approved plan.
13. Assess and accurately estimate the costs of future improvements, including both resource and equipment expenses, to align purchases with the approved implementation plan.
14. Maintain a deep understanding of all internal processes, supporting documentation, and templates, with the ability to propose and implement managed changes where necessary.
15. SQL Server experience
16. Overseeing network infrastructure, including UTM devices, VLAN configurations, and switches.
17. Managing user accounts and Active Directory services.
18. Handling software installations, licensing, and updates.
19. Overseeing vendor and supplier relationships.
20. Supporting IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades and IT service migrations.
