The Role
We are seeking a QTS Maths Teacher to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students, who may have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), or other additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, accessible Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum and individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages positive learning experiences.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
Collaborate with SEN support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic development for each student.
Contribute to the school’s ethos of continuous improvement and innovation in SEN teaching methods.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Qualified: Holds QTS with a specialism in Maths.
Experienced in SEN: Previous experience working in an SEN setting is highly desirable.
Empathetic: Demonstrates a strong understanding of the challenges SEN students face and a commitment to helping them succeed.
Creative and Resilient: Adapts teaching styles and strategies to engage and inspire students with varying needs and abilities.
Collaborative: Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team and values open communication with stakeholders.
Essential Criteria:
Proven ability to teach Maths to secondary school students, including those with additional needs.
A proactive and innovative approach to overcoming barriers to learning.
Strong classroom management skills tailored to an SEN environment.
