National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Property Advisor to join our Property and Compensation team within Major Projects. As a Senior Property Advisor, you will provide excellent business-monitoring and planning functions for the Property and Compensation Team, directly supporting the Principal Property Advisor and be responsible for reporting of workload, financial spend and forecasting.
Please note this is a hybrid position and will be based from our Bedford Office.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide reliable, accurate and professionally sound property-related advice.
* Forecast property-spend monthly, providing accurate figures to the relevant Programme Management Office (PMO) team.
* Actively contribute to the implementation of the DCO planning process, collaborating with all stakeholders.
* Identify property-related risks and issues on projects, escalating unresolved risks to the Principal Property Advisor.
* Manage the day-to-day performance of the property supply chain (professional valuers, surveyors and solicitors) to ensure compliance with due process and governance.
About you.
Qualifications:
* Experience in the management of property and compensation issues within large infrastructure programmes and projects.
* Excellent ability to understand, check and approve complex property-related cost estimates and forecasts.
* Previous experience of managing/coaching people to help them develop their skills and capability.
* Good ability to manage relationships and resolve conflicts, both internally and externally with suppliers and stakeholders.
* A good understanding of planning procedures for large infrastructure projects and experience of contract/supplier management.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
