Elective Care - Booking Clerk Manchester, UK 24 October 2024 About the Role: Partnering with the NHS, we are seeking a Patient Coordinator to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be managing referrals, appointments, and theatre lists, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a patient-centred approach. This role supports the seamless operation of outpatient services while maintaining compliance with national and local healthcare guidelines. We offer both full-time and part-time roles, with shift patterns ranging from 20 to 37.5 hours per week. Your Day to Day: Book, cancel, and rearrange outpatient appointments and daycase admissions. Answer inbound and make outbound calls to assist patients, maintaining high levels of customer service. Use hospital systems to manage the patient journey, ensuring data is recorded accurately. Proactively monitor waiting lists to ensure patients are seen within the appropriate timeframes. Liaise with clinicians, other administrative staff, and patients to ensure smooth coordination of services. Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures. Qualifications, Training & Experience: Qualifications: 3 GCSEs (Grade C or above), including English and Maths, or equivalent relevant work-based experience. Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and other IT systems. Experience: Previous clerical or administrative experience, ideally within the NHS or healthcare setting (desirable). Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Demonstrable ability to work effectively within a team and follow procedures. Training: Comprehensive on-the-job training provided to familiarise you with hospital systems, processes, and policies.
