**URGENT QA MANAGER / QA AUDITOR VACANCY**
Our Client is looking for a bright and enthusiastic person to join their team as a QA Manager (part time) to cover maternity leave for 1 year. You will work closely with the Directors and external consultants to help them with BRC accreditation as they continue to grow their business.
The right person for this role will be a good communicator and will have a strong food safety background with BRC experience. The role will include some personnel duties such as delivering training and personal development of production staff and implementation of plant sickness and absence policies, including return to work interviews.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
* You will have a "can do" attitude, good work ethic and a good sense of humour,
* Experience of food manufacturing although not necessarily in the dairy sector as training on our production processes will be given
* Record of maintaining a food safety culture.
* Record of implementing site hygiene / safe food standards
* Degree or accumulated food sector experience - Food Science, Food Technology or similar qualification
* Advanced Food Hygiene
* Level 3 HACCP
* Micro biological training an advantage
* Allergen awareness/practical knowledge of the management of allergens
* Previous experience of maintaining an internal audit programme
* Quality Management System maintenance
* Delivery of BRC certification and/or equivalent certification standards
* Demonstrable experience of using Root Cause Analysis techniques for problem solving
* Experience of applying food legislation to manufacturing practice
* Maintain, coordinate and deliver training materials to the production and distribution teams
Key responsibilities:
* Ensure the operational process and production of finished goods are appropriately controlled, via HACCP, to ensure compliance with food safety and customer standards.
* Ensure that food safety and quality governance is in place to deliver audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal and customer requirements
* Dealing with customer complaints and any non-conformances, taking and recording appropriate corrective action
* Implementing testing schedule and analysing test results
* Interface with customers, accrediting bodies and EHOs during site visits and audits, business reviews and other key opportunities
* Provide leadership and direction to ensure that within the production team there is a strong food safety culture and ethos of continuous improvement.
* Develop, implement and keep under review our Food Safety and Quality Management System ensuring that management information and statutory information is available for audit and senior management decision making.
Hours:
The role is part-time (on site approx 25 hours work per week). Working days can be flexible to suit (between Mon and Friday inclusive)
