Who are we?
Ten Hill Place is a stylish 129 bedroom hotel, part of Surgeons Quarter in Edinburgh.
Surgeons Quarter is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has developed its property and facilities to create an integrated hotel, conferencing and events facility within the College campus. The facilities lend themselves to a variety of activities and events including conferences, professional meetings, weddings, exhibitions and social events. Surgeons Quarter manage a large food and beverage operation, which includes management of venue bars, private banqueting and a high street café.
What will I be doing?
* To account manage clients from all market segments from the initial enquiry stage until the completion of their event.
* To understand the clients event requirements, ensuring that their expectations are met.
* To follow the correct procedures when handling and following up live enquiries.
* To request all deposits / credit applications and ensure receipt of deposits within the contractual period along with creating postings (for internal departments & external clients)
* To receive hand-over of client after contract and terms and conditions have been sent out by the Sales Team.
* To organise a planning meeting with the client and all suppliers to ensure the client receives the best possible service.
* To proactively up-sell all extras that can be provided, e.g. AV, floral arrangements etc.
* To be responsible for the forward planning of the booking of rooms in the College and co-ordinating the AV/ IT requirements, catering and room set-ups.
* To attend regular meetings with College staff assisting with Events.
* To meet and greet the client and provide an information pack regarding fire procedures and contact details while in the College.
* Liaise with clients whilst they are on-site and receive feedback.
* To issue the client with the final invoice and post-event questionnaire 3 days after event, and to ensure receipt of payment within contractual period. Chase clients for payments in case of invoice being settled after the event.
* To work closely with the Hospitality and Events Manager in ensuring all rooms achieve a 4-star standard and maintenance required is noted continually and remedial action taken
* To provide support to the Sales when required for example in dealing with enquiries, conducting show-rounds and any additional request as required.
* To constantly seek ways to improve the service delivery for all events.
* To personally identify training and development needs and discuss with the Events Manager.
* To attend sales event such as wedding fares, familiarisation visits and networking events as directed by the Sales Team.
