Our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation partner with a range of global customers, working closely with major airlines such as British Airways, easyJet, Wizz Air, Iberia, Vueling, Air Canada, Etihad and Qatar. We now have an opening for an Energy and Carbon Lead to join us, working across both of our sites in Gloucester. Key activities / Responsibilities / Objectives
* Identify and disseminate industry trends and future innovation in the clean energy sector
* Develop and implement a strategic approach to energy and carbon management for SLSS & SLS UK sites (e.g. carbon matters language, tools, best practice guide; etc.) for energy and carbon reduction
* Take responsibility for all SLSS & SLS UK CCA data / submissions where required
* Develop a pathway / blueprint for SLSS & SLS UK sites to embed carbon management into the core business processes of the UK business unit sites (e.g. Operations, FM, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management; etc.) to reach industry exemplar status for energy and carbon management within 5 years
* Develop and energise an energy / carbon team composed by key stakeholders within SLSS & SLS UK sites to provide a co-ordinated focus for members to network and share best practice in all aspects of sustainable energy and carbon management
* Raise and disseminate awareness on energy / carbon matters to support SLSS & SLS UK energy / carbon team to become an informed "client" on energy / carbon matters
* Lead consulting assignments with SLSS & SLS UK sites to deliver emissions baselining, reduction plans and costed roadmaps
* Engage key stakeholders from Executive to Operational levels at all UK business unit sites to identify internal resources gaps to support the implementation of SLSS & SLS UK low carbon strategy to 2030
* Track and report progress and liaise with Safran Group HQ Environment / Carbon functions
* Act as technical interface / support for all new Energy Reduction initiatives across SLSS & SLS UK
* Ensure consistency across SLSS & SLS UK with regards to metering (e.g. smart meters) and use this as a basis to identify "significant energy users" along with recommendations to reduce their energy consumption.
* Attend site services meetings when requested to ensure that all projects being approved and started optimise the Carbon targets for the site
* Produce data / required metrics for each business unit on a monthly / quarterly and annual basis including regular market insights
Strategically minded: Able to structure insights and evidence into compelling narrative for "how to realise a business opportunity?" or "overcome a business challenge?"
* Market knowledge: Understanding of the UK / Global energy markets and financial levers
* Commercially minded: Able to build, assess and improve business cases and financial profiles including innovative approaches
* Technologically astute: Knows the (energy) technology sector and the energy construction services market
* Creative: Able to innovate and to instigate and assess new ideas
* Organised: Able to coordinate and drive people to a common goal to meet deadlines required
* Communicator: Present outputs with clarity and credibility through written and verbal presentations
Work Experience:
* Successful track record in a similar capacity or demonstrable success in delivering projects in a consultative environment
* Experience of stakeholder engagement
* Hands on experience of road mapping
* A professional, team-oriented, relationship-oriented approach to managing successful, long-term stakeholders' engagements
* Knowledge of energy and carbon markets standards and regulatory schemes
Education/Certification:
* Degree level qualification in any discipline or equivalent - essential
