An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered chemotherapy nurse to join our Cancer Nursing Team at our SACT unit at Pembury Hospital. You will work within the team to provide outstanding clinical support and care for patients under the care of the Oncology/Haematology Department. Patients are offered expert clinical care which is compassionate and individualised. You should possess excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills and be prepared to professionally develop to meet the needs of the service. You should be visible and accessible with quality and standards as your priority. You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the role.

Main duties of the job
You should be able to combine autonomy with team working sensitivity and professionalism.

You will, in association with your colleagues, be required to support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, whether they are newly diagnosed or being treated with palliative intent.

Qualifications
* First level registered nurse registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council
* SACT trained
* Evidence of further education since qualification
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
* Advance Life Support provider
Experience/Knowledge
* Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse.
* Understanding of equality and diversity and how to apply it to self.
* Understanding of NMC Code and requirements of it for own practice and behaviour.
* Experience at Band 5, or equivalent in an acute setting
* Proficient clinician and clinical role model.
* Understanding of audit and benchmarking processes
* Use of Electronic documentation/ EP
