Plant Manager

The Role:
The Plant Manager’s primary responsibilities include the daily management and coordination of plant operations including production, logistics, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with all labour, safety, environmental, and corporate policies and regulations. This is a hands-on position that is responsible for maximising daily production, playing an integral part in plant operations, special projects, and has responsibility for developing and achieving budgetary and production targets.
Duties include:
1. Ensure compliance with all current legislation in relation to H&S in the workplace, and provide updates on legislation and regulations, and their implementation, as appropriate.
2. Develop and manage the strategies, plans, and budgets as agreed with the Site Operations Manager and Business Director to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company, including working closely with the Business Manager in drafting and agreeing on strategy and budget.
3. Assume responsibility for setting and controlling operational standards, budgets, targets, and objectives (KPIs), providing regular reports on progress to the Site Operations Manager and Business Director, highlighting variances.
4. Coordinate all functions within the Company to ensure they operate to agreed objectives, budgets, and targets.
5. Ensure good people management practices in line with the Company’s strategic HR policies to meet targets and objectives.
6. Staff key roles with individuals who can effectively undertake their responsibilities, ensuring roles are clearly defined and understood, and personnel are motivated and developed to achieve the business’s objectives.
7. Manage and motivate all functions within the Company while remaining focused on the bottom line and overall business objectives and strategy.
8. Build and maintain effective relationships, both internally and externally, to meet the short and long-term objectives of the companies.
The Person:
1. At least 5 years recent experience working at a management level within a fast-paced and process-focused manufacturing environment.
2. Proven hands-on experience of continuous improvement methodologies / manufacturing best practices.
3. The ability to prioritise and make decisions promptly.
4. Strong people management skills.
5. Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
