About the Facility:
The facility is a 28-bedded hospital located in Willenhall, comprising three small acute wards that foster a community feel. The aim of the facility is to provide a person-centred approach within a therapeutic environment that promotes collaborative care planning to achieve optimal treatment goals. From admission, the goal is to support patients in their recovery and facilitate a safe discharge back into the community.
Patients are typically referred from local NHS trusts, and the facility prides itself on maintaining excellent working relationships with patients, families, and external agencies. This collaborative approach ensures clear communication throughout the care pathway, enhancing recovery and supporting safe discharge. The facility offers a wide range of therapeutic interventions, combining psychiatric and cognitive behavioural approaches with occupational therapy, psychology, and leisure activities.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with acute mental health needs. You will work closely with a team of professionals including Ward Managers, Charge Nurses, Doctors, Support Workers, Therapists, Activity Coordinators, and the Senior Management Team. Your role will involve assessing and treating patients, contributing to care planning, and ensuring that each individual's needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Working Hours:
Their Nurses work flexible shift patterns, including long days (07:30 am - 20:00 pm) and nights (19:30 pm - 08:00 am), with the possibility of working 7 shifts over a 14-day period. Flexible working and part-time options are also available.
Requirements:
1. A valid NMC registration (RNLD/RMN)
2. Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development
3. A positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement, and quality
4. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
5. Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices
6. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
