General Operative
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Operations and Maintenance Team at the Thornton site as a General
Operative.
Who are we?
Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the
Lancashire Waste Contract.
Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual
(black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.
Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable
community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.

JOB SUMMARY:
The General Operative will be responsible for activities associated with the waste facility processing operations, site wide
cleaning and general site work related activities.
Whilst training and development is provided and encouraged, please see below for the minimum requirements of the role:
* Basic knowledge of English and Maths
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate effectively with operational staff.
* Good self-organisational skills.
* Good verbal and written skills – able to communicate at all levels.
* Minimum 12 months waste processing industry or similar
* Ability to demonstrate work experiences in:
* Manufacturing and processing related environments.
* Industrial cleaning.
