Job Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for an Operator (HGV) based in Lincoln from our Spilsby or Boston Depot.
As an Operator, you will assist Craft teams with the construction, maintenance, replacement, and repairs of assets up to and including 66kV. Duties may include carrying out routine inspection, maintenance, and repairs of tools and PPE, assisting with the maintenance of stores, and with the inspection of substations as required. All necessary training will be provided.
To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

The working environment requires quick, decisive, and responsible thinking and actions to meet the demands of the role. You will need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives.
The Ideal Candidate
Ideally, you will be licensed to drive an HGV up to category C and hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). You will be able to work under your own initiative in a safety-critical environment, including preparing lift plans and operating a lorry-mounted crane. Support will be provided to help achieve any missing requirements that the successful candidate will be expected to hold.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area and may be required to undertake out-of-hours standby duties as and when necessary to meet business needs.
This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service (DBS) check; depending on the role, different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
