VANRATH are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to work on various Construction projects for a leading Main Contractor based in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.
Remuneration:
£50,000 - £60,000 DOE + package

Our client is a leading, innovative Main Contractor that have been operating for over 35 years. They provide solutions across both Private and Public sectors with a project portfolio across various sectors including housing, education, healthcare and more.
The business operates across the UK with their headquarters based in Northern Ireland and regional offices in England and Scotland. They deliver award winning solutions to complex construction and engineering challenges and win a lot of repeat business due to their success.
They have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis, based in their offices in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland. Responsibilities include:
Prepare activity schedules, bills of quantities in accordance with methods of measurement, presentation of tender and contract documentations, attending interviews, carrying out full tender analysis and comparisons through to preparing the recommendation reportPerform risk, value management and cost controlPrepare / agree monthly valuations with clientsMonitor and prepare costings for delay / EOTPrice / agree variations with internal team and client agreementAgreement of final account with client in prompt mannerAllocate work to subcontractorsMonthly sub-contractor payment certification, agreement of variations / final accountsAssessing contractor applications, along with any changes, making recommendations, raising payment certificates and preparing general correspondence to sub-contractsProvide advice on contractual claimsResponsible for liaising with external and internal stakeholders to enable the projects to progress without delay, ensuring that all reasonable requests are met in a timely efficient mannerManage current workload in order that all commissions receive the relevant allocation of own time to efficiently commercially manage themMonitoring and controlling Build CostsCompliance with all relevant Company policies, procedures and guidance (including for example Health & Safety, Equality, Environmental & Quality, etc.)
The Ideal Person:
Degree or HND QualifiedExtensive experience working as a Quantity SurveyorMain Contractor backgroundStrong IT skills and conversant with standard software packagesExcellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlinesGreat commercial skills and awarenessGood level of analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to work on own initiativeAbility to identify and resolve problems at an early stageA practical and logical mind and a methodical way of thinkingNegotiation and team working skills and the ability to motivate
