Are you ready to play a key role in transforming the energy sector? At Good Energy, we’re looking for an innovative leader to drive our pricing strategies across our energy supply, export, and services businesses. Your mission will be to develop and execute pricing approaches that drive business growth and profitability while supporting our mission.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for crafting competitive and fair pricing that empowers our customers to contribute to the energy transition and achieve net-zero goals. You’ll work closely with Proposition Managers to design innovative tariffs and service packages, ensuring that our pricing strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with our mission.
You’ll also take accountability for ensuring controls exist across the business, as well as facilitating the oversight of the regulator. This includes working in close liaison with proposition teams, sales, energy trading, marketing, customer operations and risk and compliance and ensuring the right checks and balances are in place.
Responsibilities:
* Lead with vision: Guide and inspire a talented team of market and pricing analysts, fostering high performance and alignment with Good Energy’s core values.
* Stay ahead: Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to proactively develop and adjust competitive pricing structures and tariffs.
* Innovate collaboratively: Work with Proposition Managers to create new tariffs and bundles that help customers reduce carbon emissions and lower their bills, including time-of-use and discounted options, earning money from generation, battery storage and EVs.
* Balance risks: Collaborate with the trading team to manage pricing risks while addressing the needs of customers, generators, and shareholders.
* Oversee pricing: Manage the energy pricing process, ensuring that pricing decisions are profitable, data-driven, and continuously refined.
* Align financials: Coordinate with the finance team to align pricing, cost, and margin forecasts, maintaining effective pricing mechanisms.
* Engage with regulators: Partner with regulatory teams to stay updated on tariff changes and market rules, and handle pricing requests from Ofgem and other regulatory bodies.
* Ensure accuracy: Direct sales, operations, and compliance teams to ensure precise and timely customer pricing with strong internal controls.
* Manage data and training: Oversee the pricing team’s information resources and data infrastructure and provide training to ensure team proficiency and accuracy.
* Streamline data flows: Ensure that pricing data is accurately managed and updated in both internal and external systems.

Essentials:
* Extensive experience: Demonstrated success in commercial pricing within the energy sector, including managing price books and bespoke pricing, with a track record of leading complex products and pricing initiatives.
* Market knowledge: Deep understanding of the British gas and electricity markets and their cost components.
* Analytical expertise: Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
* Effective communicator: Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and gain stakeholder support.
* Collaborative leadership: Proven track record of building credible relationships and leading cross-functional teams effectively.
* Team development: Experience in leading and developing a small team of specialists to achieve high performance.
* Technical proficiency: Advanced Excel and intermediate SQL skills.

* Cross-functional experience, having built an appreciation of other functions drivers/objectives
