Disabled woman in her late thirties, living in St Pauls with a friendly medium-sized dog.
I am a passionately left-wing person who cares deeply for the environment and fairness for all. I benefit from a calm and gentle environment. I love my dog, music, creativity, good food, holistic therapies, and creative clothing. My confidence has been greatly affected by being unable to get out of the house much and losing involvement in activities and networks I was previously part of. Therefore, I would appreciate the company of someone who can be compassionate and patient in supporting me to find ways to safely reintegrate the things I enjoy back into my life.
I have multiple complex needs concerning my physical and mental health exacerbated by long COVID. Some of the health issues I struggle with include ME/CFS, Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, and Fibroids, which affect my mobility, heart symptoms, and digestive issues. I am also Autistic with ADHD and impacted by CPTSD, PMDD, Anxiety, and Depression.
A good understanding and experience of neurodivergence, fluctuating chronic health problems, and the emotional challenges that come with this are necessary. I require support with tasks such as (but not limited to):
1. Prompts with eating and drinking
2. Prompts with taking medication
3. Cooking/preparing meals and drinks, occasionally batch cooking
4. Prompts and support to select appropriate clothing
5. Reassurance with showering/bathing
6. Support with cleaning the flat
7. Checking that appliances are turned off
8. Support with shopping as required
9. Support with changing bedding
10. Support with decluttering and organizing the house
11. Support around attending appointments and communicating with various staff
12. Support to plan journeys to access the community
13. Support with managing health conditions
14. Assistance with walking the dog
Due to the nature of my conditions, tasks may vary daily depending on how I feel. It is essential to communicate with another PA to monitor my needs and ensure coverage for any absences.
Hours: 15.5 per week. I am currently entitled to 15.5 hours of care a week. I am looking for two individuals to divide these hours over the week, ideally with a visit on Mondays.
Rate of pay: £12 per hour.
Role subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
Services:
* Meal Preparation
* Personal Care
* Domestic Care
* Social + Leisure activities
* Support to remain independent
Please note: If you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit.
