What You’ll be doing:
As Salt Water Services Team Leader, you’ll effectively lead, and manage a multi skilled team, that’s main objective is to deliver services in a safe and efficient manner within Operations. Reporting to Dockmaster, you’ll ensure that all planned an reactive maintenance is completed to achieve the appropriate deliverables, linking the salt water system at Portsmouth Naval Base and maintenance levels of 3 basin.
Encouraging the support and delivery of vessel movements through the locks and docks team, you’ll also be responsible for managing a team of fitters, pump operatives and AP’s. With effective communication and engaging performance, you’ll also be tasked with ensuring risk and method statements are in place, robust right first time work is continually acceptable and be responsible for ensuring training need and associated resource is allocated via CAFM.
You’ll Have:
The ability to support projects, whilst effectively deploying resources, demonstrating numerical, analytical and time management skills. Ideally you’ll have an ONC/HNC qualification, with coupled experience in operations or salt water systems.
With a clear understanding of how a team integrates with others to achieve objectives, you’ll be able to evidence a reliable delivery performance against the wider service. Utilising your technical and business expertise to establish solutions to challenges, you’ll lead by example with resilience, excellent communication skill and effective listening.
Linked with a desired knowledge of health and safety, you’ll have keen eye for risk mitigation, whilst ensuring quality and cost performance and delivered to the highest of standard.

With a clear vision of management and supervision, you’ll be able to drive culture, processes, systems and tools. As you’ll have responsibility for identifying development opportunities within the team, you’ll be a strong leader and pro active coach to ensure mechanical teams are supported.
