Job Summary:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the largest expert nursing teams in the UK to deliver first-class specialist stoma care in the community. Whether you are a Stoma Care Specialist or a Nurse / District Nurse with a desire to learn a specialised skill, we are looking for someone who will be passionate in supporting a recognised care pathway of stoma patients from the acute into the community.
Contract: Permanent, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours
Responsibilities:
* Support to patients discharged with a stoma from the assigned hospitals and surrounding area in support of the Acute based teams
* Provide safe, effective and specialist nursing care, information and advice to patients and their relatives
* Teach and support other nursing and non-nursing staff and carers as required
* Provide specialist clinical advice on the safe provision of a stoma care nursing service
* Foster good communication links and co-operation between GPs, Community Nurses, Ward Managers and other disciplines / departments
* Ensure timely and accurate entry of data into appropriate patient record keeping systems that meet the requirements of data protection and ensure that company liability is within current regulation
* Support the introduction of new products and provide opportunities for end users to review
* Participate in discussion and the operation of research programmes affecting patients and the service
* Work with Company Nurse Manager to set annual clinical objectives and track regularly to ensure timely completion
Person Specification:
* Community / district nurse experience (desirable)
* Recognised Stoma Care Qualification (desirable)
* Car driver essential (home visits will be required)
* Proven experience with an interest within the stoma care / colorectal area
* Evidence of recent post registration training and development

* The anticipated base salary range for this position is £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience or other legitimate business factors
