The role
Elmbridge’s Finance Team are looking to recruit an experienced local government accountant to provide quality financial advice and information to Heads of Service and Budget Managers to support their decision making, financial planning, monitoring and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of the final accounts, including producing working papers and liaison with the Council’s external auditors.
* Preparation of revenue estimates.
* Providing monthly revenue budget monitoring reports for budget managers.
* Supporting the development of the Medium Term Financial Strategy.
* Providing financial advice, information and support to budget managers.
* Reconciliations of control accounts.
* Government returns and claims.
About you
In addition to being enthusiastic and willing to contribute to a strong team environment, you will:
* have a full (or part) CCAB qualification.
* have significant experience of working within a local government finance team.
* have a detailed knowledge of the CIPFA Code of Practice.
* have a high standard of numeracy and accuracy.
* be able to complete tasks within deadlines.
* have an excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets.
* be able to communicate effectively.
